I have a lot to be thankful for: finally feeling healthy again, a job I love, and a family that supports and loves me. I hope you all are having a special day!
I finished work pretty late last night and hopped on a plane this morning to Portland. My younger sister Jayne is going to have a baby any day now and I wanted to spend the holidays with her family before the new baby came.
I have the next seven days off and I am excited to catch up on sleep and catch up on a few posts I have been wanting to share with you all.
So stay tuned..
My mind has been preoccupied recently with what to do about a former best friend.
Have you ever broken up with a best friend?
I am switching my website from Blogger to WordPress. I needed to make the switch because I was having issues with Blogger not being able to do all things I needed.
I have heard a lot of great things about WordPress and I am excited to make the switch.
I am still working out the kinks (broken links, missing photos etc.). The site should be fully functioning in a few days. Thanks for your patience.
These Frye Melissa riding boots are my new goal shoes. Now that I am living in Utah I need a good pair of boots for the winter. They are a bit pricy ($398), but I think that big price tag helps me to stay extra motivated. I have never owned boots this nice and I can’t wait to get them!
Happy Halloween! I will be spending tonight with family and I am excited to see all of my nieces and nephews dressed up. I hope you all have a special night tonight.
I saw these Halloween inspired food art pieces and wanted to share. Samantha Lee is extremely talented and her art brings new meaning to “don’t play with your food”.
I recently found Allison’s blog and have loved spending a few hours reading through past posts. Not many blogs can draw me in and engage me like this. I find Allison’s attitude and personality a breath of fresh blogging air.
I have learned some pretty cool lessons from reading her blog and thought I would share some of them. Please follow the links below to read Allison’s posts.
Let me tell you something - I LOVE CROSSFIT! I have a three part series planned about how to build your own CrossFit gym. Check back soon for part 2 and 3 of building your own CrossFit gym.
I was introduced to CrossFit by my brother Matt. Matt is a collegiate athlete and cares a lot about fitness. At the time he recommended I try CrossFit I weighed 230 pounds. I was living in Las Vegas and googled my closest CrossFit gym. Kaizen CrossFit happened to be two blocks away from my apartment so I signed up for an intro class.
|This Banana Republic dress sat patiently in my closet for five
years. It is a size 10 and I bought it when I was probably a size 18.
I currently wear a size 10 and am almost fitting into a size 8. Over the weekend I was going through my clothes and weeding out the items I wanted to donate. I am so close to fitting into a size 8 that I decided to go ahead and get rid of my size 10′s. It felt really great!
I would describe House of Cards as a way more intense and grown up version of West Wing.
I am always on the search for a good lip gloss. I use my lip gloss as a base before I apply lipstick. Because drug store lip glosses are so cheap, I will try almost anything once.
There have been a lot of celebrities that have come out with their own make up lines (Drew Barrymore – Flower, Bethany Frankel – Skinny Girl) I always try out their basic lip glosses. I feel like you can never go wrong with a simple lip gloss (I loved the Skinny Girl lip gloss and sadly I can’t find it any more).
Of the many different lip glosses I have tried, the following are my very favorites:
